The death of Ophelia Bloom
What is sanity
Who says what you see is real,
How do you know THEY are real?
What does it mean to be real?
How do you know you're crazy,
Because you take medication,
Because someone is always watching you closely?
What if you're not crazy,
What if THEY are?
What if you're perfectly sane and THEY are the crazy ones?
How can you define what is real?
You have no way of knowing.
All of it could be in your head.

August 25, Ophelia Bloom
Ophelia Bloom was pronounced dead at 6:47 August 25th day. She died at the age of 18. She had escaped from the Redwood asylum two days before and was likely living in the woods on the edge of town. She was chased down by police for shoplifting at a farm stand. She was chased to the Bridge at the town line over Emily’s river where she fell to her death. She had nothing to leave behind to her father, who won't speak about her or her death. All that was in her will was a locket and a notebook left to her youngest brother Calvin Bloom. Not much is known about this poor young woman, but Redwood asylum is currently under investigation based on some healed yet fairly recent wounds that were found on Ophelia’s body, suggesting that she was abused before her escape. Some suspect that she and many others at the asylum were abused by their caretakers.
